Deleting your Empire of Dice account
Empire of Dice · last updated 3 September 2026
How to delete it yourself
- Open Empire of Dice and make sure you are signed in.
- If you are in an online game, leave or finish it first. The game will not let you delete an account out from under people who are mid-turn.
- Open Settings from the main menu.
- Find the Account section and press Delete.
- Confirm. Your account is removed straight away, you are signed out on every device, and you are taken out of every game you were in.
It cannot be undone, you do not have to ask anybody, and you do not have to explain.
If you cannot sign in
Write to hello@empireofdice.org from the email address on the account, or tell us the username, and we will delete it for you. Expect a reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What is deleted
| Your account | Username, email address and password hash. Removed. |
|---|---|
| Your games | You are taken out of every online game you are in. A game with nobody left in it is deleted along with its chat. |
| Your sessions | You are signed out everywhere, on every device. |
| Advertisement removal | If you had paid to remove the advertisements, that goes with the account. It cannot be moved to a new one. |
What is kept, and for how long
| Payment records | Where you made a purchase, the record of that payment is kept for 7 years, because tax and accounting law requires it. It is held by the payment provider, Stripe or Apple or Google, and what we hold is the fact of the payment rather than your card. |
|---|---|
| Games still being played | A game other people are still playing carries on without you. Your seat is emptied and your name is removed from it, and the board is deleted when that game ends. |
| Server logs | Ordinary technical logs, which do not name you, are kept for 30 days and then go. |
Nothing else is kept. There is no archive, no backup copy held separately, and nothing is passed to anybody else.
Deleting some of your data without deleting your account
You can ask us to remove particular things and keep the account itself: the email address on it, a bug report you sent, or a game you would rather was gone. Write to hello@empireofdice.org and say what you would like removed.
One thing is worth knowing before you ask: an account with no email address on it cannot be recovered if you forget the password, because the recovery link has nowhere to go.
Playing without an account at all
Local games and the tutorial need no account and no sign-in, and nothing from them is ever sent anywhere. If that is how you play, there is nothing here to delete.
